Who is Dutton House for?
Dutton House is a men's sober living residence in Hyde Park, Austin, designed for working professional men committed to long-term recovery. Most residents are stepping down from treatment or bringing a 90-in-90 mindset to their next chapter of sobriety.
How do I apply?
Submit an application through our online form on the Apply page. We'll review it and reach out. If it looks like a good match, we'll set up a time for you to come by the house and meet the team.
How much does it cost?
$1,200 per month for a double room and $2,000 per month for a single room. Sober living is private pay and is not billed through insurance.
What are the requirements to move in?
Residents commit to sobriety, active participation in a recovery program, house meetings, drug and alcohol testing through Sobriety Hub, and respectful conduct with housemates. Employment or a clear path to it is expected.
How often is drug testing?
Every resident is drug tested at least once per week by the house manager, and every result is recorded in Sobriety Hub.
Is 90 meetings in 90 days required?
Yes. New residents complete 90 meetings in 90 days and log their attendance in Sobriety Hub. Residents may also be assigned mood and check in reflections in the app to track recovery progress.
What is curfew?
Curfew is 10pm on weeknights and 12am on weekends. Beds are made every morning.
Who do you accept?
Men only, 18 and over, who are committed to recovery and to the structure of the house. All applicants are screened, including a search of familywatchdog.us. We do not accept anyone listed on a sex offender registry.
What is your medication policy?
Medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone, is permitted case by case. Bring your current medication list and we'll review it with you during the application process before move in.
How long is the stay?
There is no fixed length. Most men stay several months to a year or more. The goal is to leave when recovery is stable, not on a preset timeline.
Where is Dutton House located?
Dutton House is in Hyde Park, a walkable Austin neighborhood close to UT, HEB, Alamo Drafthouse, and multiple 12-step meetings within walking distance.
Do you accept insurance?
Sober living is a private-pay residence and is not billed through insurance. Call (512) 862-9268 to discuss current availability and rates.
What's the difference between Dutton House and an Oxford House?
Oxford Houses are democratically run by their residents with no paid staff, while Dutton House is a professionally managed men's residence with an onsite house manager, weekly drug testing recorded in Sobriety Hub, and a structured program built for working professionals. Read the full comparison
